CAY BAY--Managing Director William Brooks and the personnel of GEBE will celebrate today at the inauguration of the company's two new 11.3-megawatt engines and its power plant expansion.
The brainchild of Brooks, the engines with the radiator-cooled system have been functioning much better lately after a period of outages due to testing, fine tuning and unforeseen short circuits.
Brooks is expected to outline the process of acquiring the new engines, the execution of the expansion, and future plans including a new generator, which will be ordered online sometime next year.
Management also intends to change over most of the other generators to units with radiator-cooled systems that will make the entire power plant less vulnerable, and will also reduce GEBE's environmental footprint.
Several dignitaries and business persons have been invited to the affair at the power plant in Cay Bay, which begins at 4:00pm.
