~ Madame Estate, Arch Road ready for digital upgrades ~
PHILIPSBURG--St. Maarten Cable TV's Madame Estate office will be open today, Saturday, from 9:00am to 1:00pm to accommodate customers who want to swap their old converter boxes for the new digital ones.
The company said the special opening is to accommodate subscribers who may not be able to swap their boxes during the week. Cable TV also expects to open a branch office in the Simpson Bay area by February 20 to process subscribers in that area.
Madame Estate and Arch Road in Sucker Garden are the two areas ready for the digital upgrade being offered by the company. The upgrades are part of Cable TV's digital service launched recently. The company said subscribers were required to switch to a Motorola digital box to continue receiving service.
Subscribers in Area #1 (Madame Estate/Arch Road, Sucker Garden upper and lower) are asked to visit the office by Monday, February 13, to swap their boxes.
Subscribers can visit Cable TV's office in Madame Estate to exchange their analog boxes to continue viewing the channel line-up. "To provide all customers the opportunity to gradually transition to the digital platform and to accommodate the change, St. Maarten Cable TV will simulcast the analog channels until May 1," it was stated in a press release.
"Thereafter, the company will cease transmission of the analog channels and Pioneer boxes will no longer receive the signal."
Subscribers are scheduled by area to swap their analog cable boxes for digital boxes to ensure that their transactions are processed in an efficient manner. Customers must also bring their remotes, coupon books and valid identification.
Subscribers who have shields on their cable boxes and those who are unable to remove their cable boxes should call the Customer Service Department, tel. 542-4361, for further instructions.
