Synopsis: A generally fair weather pattern will persist across the local region through at least Saturday. However, expect a quick passing shower across the islands from time to time. Furthermore, an area of low pressure located over the South Eastern Caribbean this morning is moving slowly West-Northwest and moisture associated with this system may spread Northward across the local area during the weekend. This will result in an increase of cloudiness and shower activity with a risk of heavy rainfall across the islands and surrounding waters through the weekend.
Sea conditions: Light to moderate with waves oscillating between 2 to 3 feet.
Tropical weather systems: Igor regains tropical storm status over the far Eastern Atlantic Ocean. At 11 AM local time the center of tropical storm Igor was located at about 16.4N and 31.0W about 465 miles West of the Cape Verde Islands. With maximum winds near the center of 40 miles per hour it moves toward the West at 16 miles per hour. The Meteorological Service of the NA & A will monitor the progress of Igor with much interest.
