MARIGOT--The Gendarmerie confirmed that at least two persons were injured and hospitalised, following an accident that occurred between two vehicles. This collision took place on the RN7 in French Quarter about 9:00pm on Thursday night.
According to witnesses, a blue Nissan Almira, which was travelling at a high speed in the direction of the border to the Dutch side, hit a Hyundai dump truck, which was travelling in the same direction as the Nissan, from behind as the truck attempted to make a right turn into a side road. The impact knocked the truck onto its side.
Reports that the driver of the Nissan car had run away could not be confirmed. No other details about this accident could be obtained from the Gendarmerie by press time.
