Palm Sunday processions re-enacting the triumphal entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem were held in both St. Maarten and Statia yesterday. Here, members of the Bethel Methodist Church joined by members of the Anglican church the in Statia stage their procession led by boys of the Woodley family on donkey, followed by Reverend Novelle Josiah, in black robe and others.

PHILIPSBURG--The grand beach party hosted by the Dutch and French sides' tourist bureaus along with Delta Air Lines at Atlanta's Phipps Plaza Shopping Mall on Saturday, April 5, was a huge success.

Prins Bernhard Bridge given
new surface, walkway follows
PHILIPSBURG--Prins Bernhard Bridge was paved with concrete overlaid with asphalt yesterday. This was phase one of the bridge upgrading works, Public Works Department Head of Maintenance Claudius Buncamper told The Daily Herald.

Nagico buys NAf. 4 million
bond issue for St. Maarten
PHILIPSBURG--Nagico Insurance purchased the four million guilder bond issue a few weeks ago. The bonds were issued in St. Maarten's behalf by the Federal Treasury after September 11, Leader of Government and Finance Commissioner Sarah Wescott-Williams announced yesterday.
