Casino robbers may have
stolen over US $10,000

PHILIPSBURG--Police are still not close to releasing the amount stolen from Beach Plaza Casino on Sunday, but sources close to this newspaper say more than US $10,000 in cash was taken by bandits.

Police have also not confirmed whether the two suspects in the casino robbery, who left their call sign “Scary Movie,” were the same suspects who robbed Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) in Cole Bay a few weeks ago and left a message saying, “When the police come, tell them Scary Movie was here.”

Many people have expressed concern that it may be the same suspects, but according to police spokesman Inspector Johan “Janchi” Leonard, it cannot be determined at this stage.

It is entirely possible, police say, that the suspects in the casino robbery copied the statement of the KFC robbers in a bid to throw police off their track.
