DAE introduces
Caracas route

PHILIPSBURG--After the successful introduction of its service to Valencia, Venezuela on December 9, 2005, DAE on Monday announced its next regional destination: Caracas. The inaugural flight to the capital of Venezuela takes place Tuesday, March 20.

Within a short period, DAE managed to build a strong position in the region with good and dependable connections within the Netherlands Antilles, Aruba and the rest of the region. DAE started with four flights per week from Curaçao to Valencia in December 2005, and this number quickly increased to six flights per week.

The Caracas flight will be executed twice daily during the week from Curaçao and once a day during the weekend, on Saturday and Sunday. The flight will have seamless connections with the Aruba and Bonaire flights. “We announce the Caracas flight with great satisfaction as this is an important milestone in our continuous efforts to serve our passengers even better,” said DAE’s CEO Floris van Pallandt.

To celebrate the introduction of this new flight, DAE announced a special fare from St. Maarten to Caracas of US $299 for a return ticket. For Curaçao-Caracas-Curaçao the ticket price has been set at NAf. 174 or US $99. All prices are excluding the fuel charge. The Caracas flights will be executed with an ATR propeller aircraft with 46 to 48 seats.

DAE currently executes daily flights to Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçao and St. Maarten. DAE’s fleet momentarily consists of three ATR aircraft with 46 or 48 seats and one Fokker-100 jet. The second Fokker-100 should return later this week from Brazil after having completed the maintenance checks. The Fokker-100 aircraft which started executing daily jet service on the route Curaçao-St. Maarten February 15 has 100 luxurious leather seats with a deep pitch and ample legroom. The Fokker-100’s were manufactured with exceptional modern technology where it concerns navigation equipment and fuel consumption.

“Reason for which we continuously invest in our product and services is based on our customers demand. As DAE we aspire to spread our wings further with the introduction of new destinations such as the Dominican Republic, Haiti, Trinidad & Tobago and Colombia,” said Van Pallandt.

“We expect the Caracas route to be a great success due to our proven track record of our one-time performance and our competitive pricing. Our schedules allow better connections to the islands and within the region,” concluded Van Pallandt, who will travel on the first flight to Caracas on Tuesday. In Caracas there will be a press conference, mainly for the Venezuela media. DAE will also have several meetings with tour operators there.
