Public feedback on the
new Festival Village

PHILIPSBURG--During the open house at the new Festival Village on Pond Island in Philipsburg last Saturday, April 14, Street Vibes took the opportunity to get some feedback from the visitors and booth holders and what they thought of the new facility.

Henry Lynch
Accountant

“I’m really impressed. The colours are very impressive. It looks a lot bigger than it did before, so people might be a little discouraged to go and buy drinks, but it’s a job well done. I hope the Piña Colada boys are actually back this year selling their piña coladas in the hot sun.”

Leonardo Bromet
Security officer

“I’m definitely impressed by the new look of the Carnival Village. Hopefully when it is finished it will look even better.”

Morrisia Nicholas
Director of after school programme

“I have been a booth holder for the past seven years. I must say I’m extremely pleased with the new Carnival Village. I’m looking forward to April 21 for the grand opening. There is still a bit more work to be done, but overall it’s very good. Especially since us as booth holders did not have to do the hard work of building the booths.”

Marva Saint Claire
Construction worker

“I think it is very beautiful. People will be very pleased with it. People are already really excited about it, saying that it is very beautiful. Great job they have done here.”

Yolanda Kortenoever
Homemaker

“I’m very impressed compared with how it used to be. I think they still have some more work to be done, but for what I see now it’s very nice. I like the round formation where you can come together truly and connect, instead of people being scattered all over. We now have a designated area where we can focus and function.”
