Morgan Heritage to perform
in Festival Village Thursday
PHILIPSBURG--One of the international acts for this year’s Carnival will be the renowned reggae group Morgan Heritage.
The group made a short stop on the island yesterday for a press conference at the Sonesta Maho Conference Room before flying on to Guadeloupe where they will perform tonight.
The group will be flying back to St. Maarten tomorrow, Thursday, April 26, for its concert, which will commence at 10:00pm with a performance by Percy Rankin and the Bonfire Band, followed by the Morgan Heritage performance at 11:00pm.
According to the group, it plans to perform some tracks from its new album entitled “Mission in Progress,” which will be released in September. Songs from the new album already receiving airplay, such as “Brooklyn in Jamaica” and “Love you right,” can be expected to be heard at the concert.
The group encourages fans to visit www.morganheritagemusic.com and www.myspace.com/morganheritage .
Promoter of the concert Bamboo Bernie’s encourages the general public to be on time for the show, as it will start on time because the band will have to fly out early the next morning to perform elsewhere.
