Allow justice to take its
course, advises Richards
PHILIPSBURG--The people of St. Maarten will hear from the relevant authorities what exactly is happening concerning the ongoing investigations involving Police Commissioner M.L.
Local Chief of Police Lt. Governor Franklyn Richards told The Daily Herald that before he would give any information, “justice has to take its course.” He confirmed that the investigation was being conducted by the Federal Detective’s. M.L., suspected of being involved in human trafficking, was suspended from his duties indefinitely last week.
Richards: “One is innocent until proven guilty and not the other way around. After the Federal Detectives have conducted their investigation, we will come out and explain the situation to the public, but we have to let the detectives do their work first.”
He stressed that he strongly believed in the justice system and that justice would prevail. Richards promised that the people of St. Maarten would hear from the relevant authorities, because they were entitled to this.
