Caribbean Airlines e-tickets
with Continental Airlines
TRINIDAD/PHILIPSBURG--Caribbean Airlines has recently entered into Interline e-ticketing agreements with Virgin Atlantic and Continental Airlines. This allows a single e-ticket to be used for travel on two or more carriers, and airlines can sell tickets for each other electronically.
Travel agents worldwide will be able to issue interline e-tickets for Caribbean Airlines with Virgin Atlantic and Continental-operated flights as part of passengers’ itineraries and vice-versa. At present, Caribbean Airlines e-ticket partners are: British Airways, American Airlines, Air Canada, Air Jamaica, Continental, Virgin Atlantic, and United Airlines. Plans are in place to implement e-ticketing with other carriers over the next several months.
Caribbean Airlines CEO Peter Davies said Interline e-ticketing will expand Caribbean Airlines’ existing e-ticketing capabilities and distribution. After being the first Caribbean airline to offer e-tickets and web check-in, the company “takes pride in being the trendsetter and offering this convenience to our customers.”
Passengers will benefit from expedited check-in and boarding processes and simplified ticket purchase, making the overall travel experience seamless and comfortable. E-ticketing also allows our airline to benefit from the efficiency and cost-saving benefits of a paperless environment, he said.
