Jorien Wuite will oversee
ADC lab transfer to SLS
PHILIPSBURG--Health Sector Director Jorien Wuite has been appointed to oversee the transfer of the Analytic Diagnostic Centre (ADC) lab to St. Maarten Laboratory Services (SLS).
Health Commissioner Maria Buncamper-Molanus said Wuite was appointed to oversee the transfer and is currently in Curaçao having discussions on this matter with representatives of the lab.
She said the documents on the lab transfer presented to the Executive Council by former State Secretary Rodolphe Samuel earlier this year “in our view were not the documents that we should be signing at this time regarding the transfer of the laboratory services.”
The Commissioner said she has also met with the incumbent State Secretary for Health Joan Smart-Berkel about the matter. Correspondence was also sent to the Health Minister Ersilia de Lanooy regarding documentation requested. “We received a response and we have appointed a coordinator to finalise the process,” Buncamper-Molanus said, alluding to Wuite. She said Wuite is expected to, “bring the entire matter to a finalisation… She is in Curaçao as we speak so discussions are ongoing with representatives of the lab. We are not progressing as quickly as I would like to, but I am looking forward to a finalisation of this matter shortly.”
