Dick to inform
police on Friday

WILLEMSTAD--Justice Minister David Dick is scheduled to arrive in St. Maarten on Thursday. He is scheduled to talk to all members of the Police Force of the Windward Islands on Friday regarding the latest developments concerning the arrest of Police Chief Commissioner Derrick Holiday.

Holiday has been in preliminary detention at the Pointe Blanche prison since he was arrested Tuesday morning in his house in Oyster Pond on suspicion of forgery of Immigration documents.

In a press release issued on Thursday, Dick stated that the Prosecutor’s Office would be the only entity authorised to give information in the Holiday case. He said he hoped it would be a short investigation and that clarity in the matter would be provided soon.

He also made a general appeal not to speculate about the case to prevent persons, entities or the country/island from being affected.
