COLE BAY--Representatives of the marine sector and boatyards on the Dutch side will be a part of the first Blue Flag workshop organised by Environmental Protection in the Caribbean (EPIC) at Carl’s Unique Inn today, Tuesday at 10:00am.

Airport remains closed
to flights for third night
AIRPORT--Passengers booked to travel out of or into St. Maarten after dusk had their plans put on hold as Princess Juliana International Airport, the second busiest airport in the North-Eastern Caribbean, remained closed to flights for another night. All airlines were notified about the closure around 4:00pm.

Three accidents
reported Sunday
PHILIPSBURG--Three car accidents were reported on Sunday. The accidents involved driving under the influence, injury to a driver and the attack on a driver by an individual who was accidentally brushed by the vehicle.

Voges retires after 17 years
as Acting Lt. Governor
PHILIPSBURG--After having served the island as Acting Lt. Governor for 17 years, Mathias Voges will be retiring from the post on Friday. Voges said it’s time for someone else to get a chance to serve the island in this position. No successor for the post has yet been appointed.

US couple brings Bubblebee
superhero to local classrooms
PHILIPSBURG--If it were up to authors, songwriters and spouses Gloria and Richard Rinderman, their brain child Bubblebee would be flying in classrooms all over St. Maarten. The Rindermans, long-time vacationers in St. Maarten from Long Island, New York, are currently in St. Maarten to promote their booklets and CDs.
