Rienk Mud is newest
St. Maarten prosecutor

AIRPORT--St. Maarten’s newest prosecutor arrived on-island from the Netherlands early Sunday evening and will begin work on youth and children’s affairs cases in two weeks, Windward Islands Chief Prosecutor Taco Stein said Sunday.

Eight-year veteran Rienk Mud will join staff at the local Prosecutor’s Office from Tuesday, April 1, Stein told The Daily Herald. Mud will serve on the prosecutor’s staff for at least three years.

Mud, like Stein, worked for the Court of Guardianship in the Netherlands for a number of years before becoming a prosecutor.

Stein greeted Mud at Princess Juliana International Airport (PJIA) on his arrival about 6:30pm Sunday.
