Police interim coach
arrives in St. Maarten

PHILIPSBURG--Interim Coach for the Police Force of St. Maarten, St. Eustatius and Saba Ronald Dongor arrived in St. Maarten on Sunday. He was accompanied by Deputy Minister Plenipotentiary Mavis Brooks-Salmon.

Dongor will be responsible for upgrading projects of the Police Force and coaching the members of the management team. He will also be acting head of police when Police Commissioner Richard Panneflek is not present.

Dongor is supposed to start on May 15, but he will be sworn in on May 28. Civil servants union ABVO recently demanded clarification from Justice Minister David Dick on Dongor’s appointment.

The Win-Win Agreement signed on March 31 stated that Dongor would be appointed in the rank of Police Commissioner, but the union said it had information that the uniform prepared for Dongor had epaulettes of a Police Chief Commissioner.

ABVO wanted to know whether Dick had made a separate deal with Dongor apart from the Win-Win Agreement.
