BELVEDERE--Police arrested three young men on Wednesday after finding two shotguns and clothing usually associated with robberies in an unmarked sports utility vehicle (SUV) the suspects were occupying, police spokesman Inspector Ricardo Henson reported.
M.H., H.H. and A.F. were taken into police custody when officers discovered two shotguns, one of them “riot-style,” a black long-sleeved shirt, a black head cloth and a black bandana in the unlicensed Mitsubishi Nativa in which they were spotted on Bishop Hill Road. Police believe there might have been some intent to commit a crime.
“These items are the type used for committing robberies,” Henson said.
The suspects tried to flee after the police patrol ordered them to pull over, but were caught as they tried to run. They were taken to the police station in Philipsburg and handed over to the Narcotics and Firearm Division.
