Store manager flees island
with three large diamonds

~ Reward offered for information ~

PHILIPSBURG--He was supposed to return the three large diamonds to the store safe after showing to potential buyers, instead the manager of Diamonds International’s airport store boarded a flight on June 5 to his native India triggering the issuance of an international arrest warrant.

Diamonds International (DI) is offering a reward to information leading to the arrest of H.M. and the return of the gems that DI Managing Director Moshe Hakimi described to The Daily Herald as “very, very valuable.”

The three diamonds: round brilliant (finest cut) and round brilliant and square shaped Princess cut diamonds (all of them certified by Gemological Institute of America) are worth nearly US $100,000 on the wholesale international market.

The Indian national was working for DI for more than five years, prior to which he was employed with a Back Street store.

Aside from local and international authorities, DI has written about the theft to India’s Prime Minister, officials in country’s External Affairs Ministry and Central Bureau of Investigation.
