Most likely you have noticed the back and forth finger-pointing between The Westin Resort and the Dawn Beach Estates in the press.
This finger-pointing pertains to the septic tank placed by The Westin, far away from The Westin, but next to the residential area of the Dawn Beach Estates.
This septic tank pounds away all day and night. It is extremely loud. It is the first and last thing I hear every day.
But there is more. And for those unfamiliar with this septic plant design, let me elaborate:
The entire system is open and anybody can access the septic plant at will.
Simply climb up the ladder and your life is immediately at extremely high risk:
Massive power cables on the floor.
Live machinery with exposed moving parts working at full speed.
And worst of all, the sewage tank is open.
Make just one wrong step and you fall into the sewage tank!
Now I am not technical at all, but I'll bet that if you fall in the sewage tank you will be immediately dragged down by the pumps and headed for a grinder in no time.
Maybe this is where that missing lady in that unsolved domestic case ended up? Outrageous is the only word that comes to mind.
The only real answer to this issue is: Build a housing structure completely covering this septic plant with proper locks and security measures set in place.
Now if you also make this housing structure in such a manner that it eliminates the noise and smell the septic plant produces, then we will have the classic win-win situation on our hands.
Surely there isn't a soul out there that would disagree with me at this point in time?
But then again, we are dealing with some very stingy, stubborn, corporate fat cats, who wouldn't hesitate to voluntarily be a good neighbour if that is actually going to cost them a dollar.
I hereby challenge the company to make me eat my words and dare it to do the right thing.
