Dear Queenie,

  My daughter has a boyfriend who is just terrible for her. He only works part-time, he’s fat as a hog, and he belongs to some weird religion that I just don’t understand.

  She is a beautiful, smart girl with a good job who could have just about any man she wants, but all she wants is this loser.

  I am so worried that she will marry him and only then realise what a mistake she has made.

  There is not much you can do for your daughter except be there for her when, if ever, she decides this guy is not good for her.

  Until then, try to accept the situation. Worrying about it will only affect you negatively and you will want to be at your best when your daughter needs you.
