Dear Queenie,
In today's court "grounds for divorce" is no longer an issue, as it was in the past (e.g. adultery, abandonment, abuse). If a person no longer wants to be in a marriage, they can file a divorce, even if one party doesn't want it: done!
Only if there are minor children involved, and one party doesn't want a divorce, will the court grant a separation, for 3 years. After which, if parties still want a divorce, it will then be granted.
So, Queenie, tell "Confused" (February 3), she doesn't need "grounds"! A lawyer can handle her case for her or, if her finances doesn't allow for a lawyer, a court marshal can make up the petition for one and guide her through the process.
Good luck to her, and don't take any more BS from her selfish hubs!—Appalled Professional Woman
Dear Appalled Professional Woman,
Your input is most welcome. Thank you for writing.
Now Queenie has a question: Can such men be prosecuted here for rape?
