PHILIPSBURG--The St. Maarten Youth Beat Foundation Primary & Secondary Schools Basketball Tournament continues with three games at L.B. Scott ports Auditorium Friday.
At 4:00pm in the Primary School division Ruby Labega tips off against Seventh Day Adventist School. Action continues in the Secondary School division at 5:00pm as St. Dominic School takes on Academy PSVE and at 6:00pm as Milton Peters College Team 2 faces Team 1.
The competition is a double elimination event. Any team that suffers two losses is out.
Thus far Seven Day Adventist School is dominating the Primary division with two wins and no loss. Ruby Labega is second at 1-0 and followed by St. Joseph at 1-1, Methodist Agogic Center at 0-1 and Sister Borgia School at 0-2.
Seventh Day Adventist defeated St. Joseph 15-12 and MAC 15-8. Ruby Labega bested Sister Borgia 14-7 and St. Joseph defeated Sister Borgia 18-11.
Lycee de Marigot is undefeated in the Secondary School division at 4-0. MPC 1 is second at 2-2 and four teams, Vocational, MPC2, Sundial and PSVE, are tied at 1-1. St. Dominic is 0-1 and Academy and Learning Unlimited are both 0-2.
Lycee won the competition opener February 26 besting Vocational 56-49. Lycee went on to beat Sundial 46-37, MPC 2 51-47 and MPC 1 62-55.
MPC 1 has bested Learning Unlimited 41-33 and PSVE 43-39. Vocational beat Academy 49-36. MPC 2 also beat Academy 45-43 thus knocking out the Academy team.
Sundial knocked Learning Unlimited out of the competition with a 39-32 victory and PSVE shot past St. Dominic 46-32.
