PHILIPSBURG--Jonathan Phillips scored 36 points as he led the Cay Hill Celtics in a roller coaster of a game in the Junior Division of the Soualiga Youth Basketball Association at L.B. Scott Sports Auditorium yesterday. Celtics defeated Wild Cats of Sucker Garden 73-67.
The Cats took the early lead going out 22-19 in the first quarter. By the break, Celtics were up by four at 38-34.
Cats clawed back into the game 56-46 at the end of the third and led 65-60 late in the fourth quarter.
Celtics exploded for a 13-2 run to win the game by six. Jerry Thomas had 16 points for the Cats.
In the early game, a Cadet Division match up No Limits of St. peters continued their winning ways. No Limits bested Middle Region Saints 39-21. Martle Harley led the winning effort with 11 points. Giovanni Arrindell assisted with nine.
No Limits have yet to lose a game this season nor did they drop a match in the preseason knock out. Yesterday they started with a 10-2 first quarter lead. By the half they were up 22-8 and led 27-17 at the end of three. Jamal St Louis netted seven points for the Saints.
Action continues this afternoon in the Cadet Division at 4:30pm as Dutch Quarter Rebels face Simple. In the Junior Division Cross Over Boys meet Middle Region Saints.
