PHILIPSBURG-- Methodist Agogic Center and Milton Peters College Braves won their respective divisions RBTT St. Maarten Little League School Tournament. Methodist Agogic Center defeated Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. School 11-3 to win the Primary division, while Braves bested St. Maarten Academy PSVE 5-1 to capture the Secondary School title.
In the Primary division Jaylen Constance was the best batter for MAC. He went 3-4 and was the winning pitcher at the Stadium on Pond Island Saturday. MAC had nine hits while Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. had five. MAC scored two runs in the first and four in the third as they cruised to victory.
In the game for third place Ruby Labega shot past Hillside Christian School 8-0. Starting pitcher Andry Millet and closer Rene Gonzalez totaled 13 of the Hillside's 15 outs by strike out.
The Braves won the Secondary School title Friday. Jamal Constance, Jaylen's older brother, was the winning pitcher. Rashid Maccow was the team's best batter. He went 1-2.
Mixed School placed third.
The tournament started in October and consisted of nine teams in the primary division and six in the secondary.
