Change your thinking – Change your life

COOL_Pic-_use_plsWant to sleep better, change unwanted habits, improve your business and have the life of your dreams? Then think about it! The power of your thoughts can change your life.

You may have heard that you can achieve anything you set your mind to – but is it really that simple? Yes, it is scientifically proven! Best selling authors call it "The Secret" or the "Law of Attraction." Jose Silva has perfected the techniques and The Silva Method Workshop now teaches you how to put these powerful tools into practice. If you want to not only know more, but create more with your thoughts, you can experience the power of your own mind by attending this Silva Method workshop presented by Arna Berg who claims she owes much of her abundant success in life to The Silva Method.

Learn to improve your life

After years of working for someone else, Arna explained that circumstances led her to start a little business in Simpson Bay Yacht Club and she opened the doors of The Business Centre. In the beginning it didn't go very well, every day she wondered how to attract clients, whether the business could pay her a salary and if the business would even survive to the end of the first year. In 1992 her friend Malcolm Maidwell read a book about the Silva Method and he persuaded Arna and a small group of friends from St. Maarten to fly to New York and take this four-day workshop. The things she learned there dramatically changed her life.

"One of the most profound things I learned was that I was responsible for what was happening in my life; my way of thinking was influencing me in a negative way. The thoughts I was thinking attracted to me those very things I didn't want; I lived in a state of stress, expecting disaster. Suddenly during that weekend, I realized I was very successful at attracting the things I didn't want because that is what I was thinking about all the time. From then on, I began to use the techniques I learned in earnest, among them was to change my thinking process and to be clear about, think and visualize what I really wanted. I was so excited by what had happened during that weekend course that I began to imagine how this could help so many people in St. Maarten. I asked the instructor if she would consider coming here to present the workshop. She agreed, and since 1992 we have presented the course many times. Hundreds of St. Maarteners have taken the course and have learned how to be more successful and happy in their lives."

The Silva Method in short

The Silva Method is taught in 107 countries and 57 different languages worldwide; it teaches how to use more of your mind and use it in a special way to achieve your desires. Science shows us that most people use only about 10% of their brain, Silva teaches about both brain hemispheres and how the mind functions in measurable cycles. You can learn how to use more of the right creative and intuitive part of the brain in conjunction with the left, linear, analytical, problem solving side. Silva teaches how to harness what science has proven, that the mind functions in a more intuitive, creative and expanded capacity in the relaxed Alpha state.

You learn how to understand and set clear goals and harness the power of desire, belief and expectancy to make those goals reality. You will not only learn to manifest your heart's desire and what you want in your life, but also how you can help your loved ones, your family and friends.

Science and the Silva Method

Science in the last decade has made a quantum leap in the understanding of brain science. This new brain science or "Neuroscience" supports what Jose Silva has been teaching for several decades; that is, it is possible to re-programme the brain and the mind at any age. But it can only be effectively achieved when programmed on the non-conscious (or inner conscious as Jose calls it) or Alpha Level. In the Silva training, you will learn how to access the Alpha level consciously to make the right neural connections and work to achieve a life of your dreams.

The Quantum leap of Neuroscience in the past decade can best be summed up in the word Neuroplasticity; simply put: our ability to make new brain cells and new neural connections does not stop with adolescence. Every time you have a significant new thought, you are carving new pathways into your brain. Neuroscience tells us that if you learn how to gain access to the power centre of the brain, where attitudes, beliefs and established thought patterns are stored, we can actually rewrite our genetic code.

Your brain processes four hundred billion bits of information every second, but you are consciously aware of only about two thousand. The non-conscious brain stores the rest and has a guardian at the doorway: the Reticular Activating System (RAS). When you have programmed a specific idea (which is as simple as thinking about it whether asleep or awake), the job of the RAS is to sift through the entire ocean of information stored in the non-conscious and to find precisely what you've told it to find. This can be a blessing or a curse depending on where your thinking is directed. If your RAS is not properly programmed for what you want, you will never reach your goal. If it is programmed for what you don't want, then that's precisely what you will get. Remember "Worry is a prayer for what you don't want."

As you start programming your RAS and recalibrate your psycho-cybernetic mechanisms, realize what it is you are doing. You are overriding your genetic programming and your upbringing – those habitual behaviours that no longer serve you. You aren't simply entertaining a new thought in your imagination; a new thought will last no longer than a New Year's decision to go to the gym or cut carbs. No, you are fundamentally changing how your brain works by physically forging new neural pathways within the tissues of your brain. There is no more fundamental change you can possibly make in your life than this.

Neurologically, here's what is happening:

Simply put, your new thought is carried along a series of electrical impulses moving from neuron to neuron by leaping across the gaps or synapses. For that thought's electrical charge to leap the synapses' chasm, a certain electrical threshold must be reached and exceeded. With that leap, something fascinating happens. You begin ever so slightly to lower that threshold. The next time you evoke that same thought, there is a tiny bit less electrical resistance and, with constant repetition of that thought, you are bushwhacking a new pathway with your thinking and the new neural patterns in your brain literally wire themselves together, creating a brand new network of neurons. In time, your new path becomes a superhighway across which the constant traffic of your new beliefs and new identify drive effortlessly and automatically. Changing from the inside out, you pave the way for the fulfilment of your dreams and goals.

How do you programme your RAS for what you want? It is critical to learn how to consciously direct your RAS.

Retraining the non-conscious part of your personality is another process. You will learn that by first using your conscious facilities, you choose the thoughts you want to have as your beliefs, then you systematically impress those thoughts on the non-conscious part of your brain. Neurological research shows that 96-98% of all behaviours are automatic. This is why we set goals, but don't reach them. Setting them is a function of the conscious mind. Reaching them is a function of the non-conscious mind.

In the Silva course, you learn to train your RAS to direct its amazing capacity to focus on what you do want, on the solution not the problem. You learn to change limiting beliefs. At the non-conscious level, you will go through a series of specially designed exercises to allow you to consciously work with your non-conscious mind to correctly programme at the Alpha, non-conscious level, the beliefs you wish to have and goals that you wish to achieve and will achieve.

Tomorrow: Free introductory evening

A free introductory evening will be held at Belair Community Centre (across from St. Maarten Medical Center) tomorrow, Wednesday, February 24, from 7:00 to 8:30p.m. During this time, you can find out more about the course content and experience entering the Alpha State and using visualization for deep relaxation.

As a graduate of the Silva Method, you will receive a certificate and an ID card which allows you a Lifetime of repeat privileges; this means you can repeat the course as often as you like, anywhere in the world, FREE.

Course dates are Sunday, February 28, and Sunday, March 7, from 9:00am to 5:30pm. Space is limited.
