Deanie Parrish of the Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASP) accepts the Congressional Gold Medal on behalf of fellow WASP members during a ceremony in the Capitol in Washington on Wednesday. The medal was given in recognition for their contribution during World War Two as the first women to fly U.S. military planes. Giving the award are House Minority Leader John Boehner (L), Senator Harry Reid (2nd R) and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi.
